| Rs. 65cr being spent on various dev. Schemes | | | Early Times Reporter Ladakh | Oct 6 A general council meeting of LAHDC, Leh reviewed the progress of developmental works. An amount of Rs. 65cr is being spent on various programmes during the current fiscal year. The meeting held under the chairmanship of chief executive councilor, LAHDC, Chering Dorje. During meeting the deputy commissioner, Leh M.K. Bhandari briefed the house about pace of development registered under execution in the districts. He said that 849 rural development schemes are under execution in the distict under CD normal and SGRY on which Rs. 4.42 cr are being spent. Besides 664 schemes are under progress in various sectors of PWD at Rs. 29cr. The meeting dwelt in detail on each schemes and the councilors urged for completion of schemes in their respective constituencies in stipulated time so that benefit gets percolated to common masses. The meeting also urged to promote the industry of seabuckthorn, vegetables, apricot while devising scientific packaging and for searching a market. The MLA Nubra urged for promotion of sunflower crop as the soil of Leh is conducive for it M.L.C and M.L.A Nubra urged for construction of parking places in Leh city in consonance with increasing traffic and tourist influx. Beside executive councilor and coucillors, the meeting was attended by Member Parliament thupstan cheewang, M.L.A Nubra and M.L.C P. Namgail. |
