Luxmi, GCC win ties in U-19 cricket

Luxmi Cricket Club (LCC) and Gorkha Cricket Club (GCC) won their respective matches rather comfortably to advance in the ongoing Satish Sharma memorial under-19 cricket tournament at Parade Ground, here today.
In the first match of the day, LCC registered a big 85-run victory over Hardcore Cricket Club (HCC). Batting first after winning the toss, LCC set a target of 228 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 30 overs.
Manoj played a brilliant innings of 91 runs facing mere 66 balls with the help of 14 hits to the fence. Mohit, Bunty and Kanu contributed 32, 22 and 22 runs respectively. From HCC, Abhishek Dogra bagged three wickets. Ankit, Sahil and Danish took one each.
In reply, HCC lost all their wickets for 143 runs with Anju being the maximum scorer with 25 runs. Sahil and Sawan contributed 16 and 16 runs respectively. Anirudh bagged three wickets for LCC, followed by Kanu and Abhinay who took two each.
Manoj was declared man of the match for his brilliant knock of 91 runs.
The second match of the day was won by Gorkha Cricket Club (GCC) who beat Rani Park Cricket Club by 45 runs. Earlier, after winning the toss and decided to bat first, GCC lost all their wickets for 165 runs in 24.2 overs, which, in reply, Rani Park Club could not chase and bowled out at a score of 120 in 24.4 overs. Nikhil was adjudged man o f the match for taking three wickets and contributing 19 runs.
Today’s matches were officiated by Santa Singh and Pappu Dogra.
Next matches: Trikuta Cricket Club V/s Seven Star-A at 8 am; Sahara Cricket Club V/s Gorkha Cricket Club at 1 pm.
