| J&K in trouble as Punjab takes 215 runs lead in U-22 | | CK Naidu U-22 cricket tourney | | Early Times Reporter Sriangar | Octn 6 Punjab seems all set to take away victory from Jammu and Kashmir in the ongoing four-day C K Naidu cricket tournament after visitors managed an overall lead of 215 runs at the end of day two play at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, here today. Under pressure J&K started their second innings on bad note losing the first wicket of Ravi Pandit with just five runs on the board. When the stumps were drawn, J&K were struggling at 40 for two. Earlier, powered by two back to back centuries from Sumit (104) and Udhay (124 not out) Punjab piled up a big total of 392 runs thereby taking a unbeatable 215 runs first innings lead. Resuming their innings from overnight score of 142 for four, both Sumit and Udhay contributed 174 runs for fifth wicket partnership brining their side to a comfortable position. Naresh also played well and added 42 runs to the team’s score. From J&K, Asif and Mudassir shared three wickets each while Manzoor, Zahoor and Imran shared a piece each. In the second innings, J&K were struggling at 44 for two at the end of day-two play. Mudasir and Ubaid were at the crease. |
