| Kishtwar boys win U-19 school cricket tourney | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 6 Beating district Doda by a big margin of 42 runs, hosts district Kishtwar today lifted the Divisional level inter-district under-19 boys school cricket tournament here today. Batting first after winning the toss, Kishtwar set a target of 205 runs in the stipulated 35 overs losing all their wickets. In reply, Doda bowled out for 163 runs in 29.3 overs. Ravi was top scorer with 35 runs while Tousif contributed unbeaten 29 for Kishtwar. From Doda, Mohinder, Shabir and Waqar shared two wickets each. Later, chasing a target near six runs per over, Doda batsmen could not control their nerves and lost wickets on regular intervals thereby making an end to their innings at 163 in 29.3 overs. Mohinder remained the top scorer with 35 runs while Attar added 20. Arshad was most successful bowler from Kishtwar, who took four wickets while Nardeep bagged three. In the final and prize distribution function, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Riyaz Ahmed Zargar was chief guest. Earlier, in the semi-finals, Jammu lost to Doda by five wickets whereas, Kishtwar defeated Rajouri by 77 runs to enter the final. This tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports. |
