| Azad meets Arjun, demands two central universities | | | Early Times Reporter

Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad met Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Arjun Singh at New Delhi today and urged upon him to declare one university each in Kashmir and Jammu as central university.
Citing the announcement of Prime Minister during his recent visit to Jammu where he said that one university in Jammu & Kashmir would be declared as Central University, the Chief Minister underscored the need to accord this status to two universities in the State.
Azad also stressed on providing funds for construction of buildings for colleges at Bijbihara, Uri, Billawar and Ramban which have already been made functional. The colleges had been sanctioned by the central government but no funds had been released so far. The Minister assured Azad that the money for construction of buildings for the four colleges would be released shortly. |
