Srinagar, Dec 4 : A jawan of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was killed in accidental fire in south Kashmir district of Shopian, official sources said here today. They said panic gripped the District Police Lines (DPL) at Shopian, when the shot was heard from a barrack. Security forces rushed towards the area and found ITBP jawan Shyam Yadav in a pool of blood. Yadav was injured when his service weapon suddenly went off accidentally, they said, adding that the injured was rushed to the hospital. The jawan later died in the hospital. Police has registered a case and initiated proceedings, they said. |
