| Jatin’s brilliant knock guides TCC’s big win | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 7 A brilliant 28-ball 67 runs knock, studded with seven sixes and four boundaries, from Jatin today guided Trikuta Cricket Club (TCC) to a big 88 runs victory over Seven Star-A in the Satish Sharma memorial under-19 cricket tournament underway at Parade ground, here. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, TCC set a big total of 236 runs in the allotted 30 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Besides Jatin, Ghanshyam also batted well and contributed unbeaten 31 (off 37 balls, 2x4, 1x6) runs. Alok and Sohail added valuable 31 and 29 runs respectively. From Seven Star-A, Pranav and Sahil shared two wickets each while Nauman, Yashu and Adarsh took a piece each. In reply, Seven Star-A could score 148 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 30 overs. Adarsh was the top scorer with unbeaten 46 runs including seven fours. Sumit was the most successful bowler with four wickets, followed by Charanpreet who took two. Jatin was adjudged man of the match for his excellent batting. He was given away a memento on behalf of the organizers by SP South Jammu, Zahid Manhas, who was special invitee in this match. In another match of the day, Gorkha Cricket Club defeated Sahara Cricket Club by a margin of 41 runs. Batting first, Gorkha Club scored 181 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 30 overs, which, in reply, Sahara Club could not chase and lost all their wickets for 140 runs in 26 overs. Tushar was declared man of the match for his all-round performance. He made unbeaten 66 and later claimed two wickets. |
