JAMMU, Dec 6: In continuation to the operation Sanjeevani, a special drive against drugs launched by SSP Jammu Sunil Gupta, IPS, today Police today arrested a narcotics smuggler alongwith 15 kgs of Poppy straw (Bhukki) during naka checking at Circular Road, Panjthirthi.
According to police spokesperson, police team during nakka duty at Circular Road, Panjthirthi halted one pedestrian for his suspicious movements.
"On search of his belongings, Police Party recovered 15 Kgs Poppy Straw (Bhukki) from his possession, police said.
Police have registered a case at P/S Pacca Danga under relevant sections of law. "Further investigation of the case is going on to ascertain source and destination of this drug consignment, he said.
Spokesperson added that the operation was made by SI Vikas Hans IC PP Panjthirthi with the guidance of Insp Ajay Bhat SHO P/S Pacca Danga under the supervision SDPO City North Vivak Shaker Sharma and SP City North, Dr Vinod Kumar IPS. |
