| Azad felicitates people on Shab-e-Qadr | | Calls upon them to promote atmosphere of amity, brotherhood | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | Oct 8 Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has felicitated people on Shab-e-Qadr, hoping that the auspicious occasion would be harbinger of peace and progress in Jammu & Kashmir. In a message of greetings, the Chief Minister said that Shab-e-Qadr provides us an occasion to introspect and seek Allah's guidance and mercy. He said the first revelation of the complete code of conduct sent by Allah in the shape of holy Qur'an for mankind was made to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) during this worthy night. The virtuous night, he said is full of blessings for those who seek Allah's compassion. He quoted the saying of Holy Prophet (pbuh) to say that whosoever spends this night awake and worships with faith and sincerity, Allah forgives his sins. He urged the people to pray for the well being of all while asking for His blessings for themselves. The Chief Minister asked people to follow the cardinal principles of love, affection, amity and communal harmony enshrined in all religious teachings to promote a culture of tolerance and brotherhood. He hoped that well off sections of the society would not forget needy and destitute people while celebrating Eid on the culmination of the holy month of Ramdan. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has asked the divisional administration to make complete arrangements for facilitation of devotees visiting shrines and important worship places for night long prayers on Shab-e-Qadr. He specifically issued instructions for adequate arrangements to be made in respect of transport, medical facilities, water and cleanliness. |
