| Charak Reviews ongoing development works at Kathua | | | Early Times Reporter KATHUA | OCT 8 Minister for Roads and Building (R&B), Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak today visited Kathua and reviewed the progress of on going different development works in Kathua district. Among others Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Mr. Laj Ram, Additional District Development Commissioner Kathua Mr. Anil Kumar, executive engineer PWD and functionaries of PWD departments were present on the occasion. Executive engineer PWD apprised the minister that work is going on in full swing over Toll Plaza at Nagri which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 8.87 Crore. He assured the minister that the works on various roads will be completed in stipulated time. Speaking in the press conference, the Minister said that road connectivity being key for all round development of the state, the Azad government is making concerted efforts to provide road connectivity to the village having 500 population under Prime Minister Gram Sarak Yojana so as to provide relief to the people. He said the toll plaza at Nagri is ambitious [project for Kathua district and after the completion of this project, congestion for traffic flow in Lakhanpur will be diverted via Nagri to Punjab state. Charak said that many schemes has been launched by the central government for road connectivity and is extending liberal funds to complete the projects under NABARD and PMSYG schemes. He asked the engineers to use quality material and all the going development works in Kathua district completed within frame time. |
