SNM hospital to have CT scan shortly

A CT scan machine financed by Tata Trust costing about Rupees Two crores is being commissioned in Sonam Norboo Memorial (SNM) hospital, Leh shortly.
This was disclosed in the steering committee meeting of Gyurja, a combined project of LHADC, Leh, TATA TRUST and TATA institute of social sciences (TISS) here today. A micro planning programme is in process in Leh under Gyurja. The biodiversity conservation of Rural livelihood programme (BCRLIP) Leh which is funded by world bank and union environment and forest ministry is also assisting the Gyurja.
The meeting chaired by chief executive councilor, LAHDC, Chering Dorje extended gratitude to the TATA TRUST is providing a CT Scan to Leh district. He said that the CT scan would be a boon for the serious patients of the district.
The coordinator, TISS in Leh Jhon Manechery said that micro planning process in Kharoo and Nyoma block has already completed and the micro planning process in Durbok block would be undertaken from October,15.
It was disclosed in the meeting that a green house of the methodology of China in on trial in Goofuk farm of remained successful; it would be introduced in the whole district for yielding more vegetable and grain. A team of agriculture experts under the leadership of executive councilor, agriculture. Tsering Nurboo Lampa has made a tour of China last year under Gyurja protect and brought this technology here.
The meeting decided to conduct a brain storming meeting of LAHDC, Leh with some senior officers of central govt. and state govt. in Jammu this winter about Gyruja project. The meeting asked the TATA institute of social sciences to work for the conduct of the meeting.
The deputy commissioner, Dr. M.K Bhandari assured the meeting said that the district officers would assist the Gyurja project. He suggested the Surveyors of the project to collect correct information in their household survey.
Besides executive councilors Tseirng Norboo Lampa, Dorje-Mutup. Tsewang Rigzin and Mohd. Khan, the meeting was also attended by senior members of TATA Trust and TISS. The deputy commissioner, Leh Dr. M.K Bhandari was also present.
