JSS organizes news reading competition | | | Jammu, Dec 14: Jammu Sanskriti School, organized 'Inter-House Newspaper Reading Competition' in the school premises. There were two categories First from Classes V to VII comprising of two students from each house. Second was from Classes VIII to X. The competition was adjudged by Dr. Isha and Sarika Sharma. The students were assessed on the basis of set criteria for reading viz:- Pronunciation, Intonation, Clarity and Articulation of voice. The competition was worth for students as students monitored the performances of their counterpart and in turn filled in their store house of knowledge and information participants tried their level best. From Classes V to VII Rohit Kundal (Class-VII) Harmony House stood 1st, Jaskirat Singh (Class-VII) again from Harmony House stood 2nd and Amanpreet (Class-V A) got 3rd position from Optimism House. In the Second category from Classes VIII to X, Aastha Kohli (Class-IX) from Harmony House stood 1st, Upasak (Class-IX) again from Harmony House stood 2nd and Manpreet (Class-IX) from Passion House got the third rank. Principal Cum Vice Chairperson appreciated the efforts of the participants and congratulated them. She told students that by reading newspapers we get all kinds of information from home ground and abroad. It develops our ideas, broadens our outlook, enriches our thought and most importantly it adds to ones word bank & vocabulary. |
