Charak inspects construction work on Parmandal-Uttarbahini road

Minister for R&B Gulchain Singh Charak today inspected ongoing construction work of 16 km Parmandal-Uttarbahani road being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.63 crore under NABARD by R&B department.
District Development Commissioner, Samba Mr. B. S. Jamwal, Superintending Engineer R&B Mr. Tehseen Mustafa, Executive Engineer R&B Mr. S. P. Manhas and other senior engineers of the R&B department accompanied the Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Charak said that on the completion of the this vital road, the people of Kalu Chak, Parmandal, Veerpur, Uttarbahini and adjoining areas would be benefited. He informed that the state government has already released funds for the construction of roads and bridges in the state to provide better road connectivity.
Charak apprised that another road from Vijaypur to Uttarbahani would be completed soon for which Rs 4.22 crore has been sanctioned under CRF project. He said that completion of these roads would ease the journey of devotees to the historical place Parmandal.
He asked the R&B authorities to complete the construction of roads in a stipulated time frame for the benefit of general masses.
Charak informed that the present government led by Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad is taking keen interest to connect every village with city and major towns. He said that coalition government is committed to provide all basic development facility with adequate and upgraded infrastructures in every sector. Asking the engineers to use quality material in development works, he cautioned that any officer found guilty of using sub-standard material would not be spared.
Later, Minister visited Gandhi Nagar Hospital where he took stock of the ongoing construction work of OPD block. He informed that this project is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 9.42 crore and is likely to be completed upto March, 2008. He said that with the construction of this additional OPD block at the Gandhi Nagar Hospital, the sufferings of the ailing people would be mitigated.
He asked the engineers to gear up the pace of work for its timely completion and stressed upon them to redouble their efforts to ensure early completion of all ongoing construction works. He asked the R&B authorities to personally monitor the development works in their areas and come upto the expectations of the people.
