| Akhand Joyti to reach Merhada Mata on Oct 14 | | | Early Times Reporter

The Akhand Joyti of Merhada Mata would be lit in the house of Pt. Sham Lal Sharma at village Ghordi in tehsil Ramnagar of district Udhampur on October 12, 2007 on the occasion of Ist Navratra.
The Akhand Joyti would remain at village Ghordi upto October 13, 2007 for public darshan and would be taken to Merhada Mata site in the early morning of October 14, 2007 followed by devotees chanting bhajans and kirtan.
Merhada Mata which is being thronged by over 60,000 devotees annually is a most attractive religious as well as tourist place situated on the hillock in between block Ghordi and block Chenani. During these Navratras, over 30,000 people are expected to pay obeisance at Merhada Mata Darbar. The whole journey from Ghordi to temple site is a trek journey.
Adequate arrangements of security, drinking water and comfortable stay have already been made by the Merhada Mata Management Committee. Various religious organizations would arrange free langers at several places like Nallah Ghorian, Bekhtar, Ganpati Mata temple Kotlo, Galua and the site of Merhada Mata..
Similar Akhand Joyti of Merhada Mata would also be taken out from village Barmeen on October 16, 2007 with devotees. Ganpati temple situated enroute on a hillock is also a worth seeing place. |
