Jammu, Dec 17: To provide succor to the widows, destitute and excelling students and for the welfare of the weaker section of the Biradari at national level, Akhil Bhartiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha (ABMSS), J&K zone, on Saturday launched its membership drive for working committees in the state. Addressing a press conference here, Sham Lal Langer, Zonal President (ABMSS), J&K averred that each member has to fill a membership form providing his details and particulars. "Each member has to submit one time membership fee of Rs 500 with the form,: he said adding that the money so collected will be distributed among the widows, destitute, ailing old aged persons, excelling students and handicapped persons of Mahajan Biradari all over the nation. The widows, old aged persons having no support and handicapped persons will be provided aid on quarterly basis whereas as the intelligent poor students would be provided scholarships so as to continue their study without and hindrance, he added. He further said that the member enrolled will be illegible for constitution of working committees of Sabha at district, Tehsil, zonal, block and sector level. He appealed for maximum participation of the Biradari members in the membership drive so that the Sabha could work for contribution towards the Biradari members at national level. ABMSS also expressed its resolve to bring all the already existing Sabhas working for the welfare of Mahajan Biradari under one umbrella for the betterment of the Biradari within the state. Sham also thanked Senior Vice President, ABMSS Yash Pal Gupta and the national committee for constitution of J&K zone unit and assured to cooperate with the national unit. He also thanked Vijay Gupta Coordinator Secretary ABMSS and Ram Langer Secretary ABMSS for their presence during the press conference.
