CNMWA condemns PDD'S working

Jammu Aug 19,2006: Residents and owners of hotels, lodges and other business establishments in Chand Nagar have strongly condemned the PDD authorities for effecting prolonged power cuts in the area daily at night from 10 pm, till 10 in the morning, since 15 th August.

A meeting of the Chand Nagar Mohalla Welfare Association held here today flayed the authorities for not been able to remove the snag, causing power break down in the entire area daily for 12 hours. This has been causing good deal of inconvenience and hard ship to the people at large who cannot sleep during night for want of electric power and the coolers and fans do not running. Due to prolong cuts the inverters also do not function.

A deputation of the Mohalla Welfare association comprasing Inderjeet Khajuria, Mangal Sain Verma, ashok Gupta, Yash Pal Singh, Krishan Singh, Satpal Khajuria, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mahinder Bakshi and M.P. Sharma who called on the AEE, Exen and SE power development department with the complaint about prolong power cut at night, were told that the department has no funds to replace the worn out cables and remove other major faults which cause interruption in the power supply,as per the deputationists.

The Association has applied to the PDD Ministers, Mr. Zora to personally intervene in the matter and ensure rectification of the fault leading to interruption in power supply to the area. They have observed that while the minister in his statements have been always laying stress on increasing the revenue from power tarrif, you should also take steps to improve the supply position of electricity to spare the consumers of hardships.
