| Kamal enters final, to face Kuldeep for Sr snooker title | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 9: Former champion, Kamal Rohmetra today sailed into the final of the senior snooker beating an equally good cueist in Jaideep Manocha 4-3 in the ongoing 17th Jammu district billiards and snooker championships at Billiards Hall, M A Stadium, here. However, it was not an easy task for seasoned senior cueist Kamal to overcome the pressure mounted by Jaideep throughout the game. Jaideep has proved to be underdog in the past. In fact, down by two frames (3-1), Kamal fought from behind to make it into the final. Winning the first frame with ease 57-25, Kamal lost three successive frames to Jaideep surprising everyone present in the hall. However, the match temperament and winning instinct in Kamal helped him maintain his cool and then took away remaining three frames in the best of seven game. Now, Kamal will take on Kuldeep Sharma, who has already reached the final. A tough fight is predicted between two Ks in the final. The date for final is yet to be decided by the organizers. The results: Kamal bt Kuldeep 4-3: 57-25, 15-53, 41-62, 32-65, 70-23, 54-48, 76-40. |
