| 15 cricketers from Kashmir to join nets in Jammu from Oct 16 | | | Early Times Reporter

As already decided, the Kashmir wing of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) will be sending 15 selected probable to Jammu for attending nets at the Hostel ground of GGM Science College, here from October 16.
To pick-up the final 15 probable for joint net sessions in the Winter Capital, the Kashmir wing started their selection process at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium only yesterday.
However, the Jammu wing, which has already started the net sessions, is expected to announce the 15 probable before October 16. “The 15 probable from Jammu would be named well before the arrival other 15 cricketers from Kashmir wing,” said joint secretary of Jammu wing of JKCA, Sunit Sharma.
It is pertinent to mention here that last year the joint camp was organized at Srinagar and the final selection of the state team was also took place in the Summer Capital.
“Except for one game, for which the venue is yet to be decided by the fixture committee, all the four Ranji Trophy Test Plate group-B matches have been planned for Jammu by the BCCI North Zone fixture committee. So, it has been decided by the JKCA to hold the joint nets, followed by the selections in Jammu,” he said.
However, raising doubts, Sunit mentioned that the last minute change cannot be rules out because the final decision is the prerogative of the apex body i.e. JKCA and not the wing.
“If assigned the job, the Jammu wing is prepared to conduct joint nets in a professional manner,” said Sunit.
Earlier, the JKCA had been assigned the task to host five Ranji Trophy matches of Plate group-B, including season opener at Srinagar from November 3, but doubts have raised over the weather conditions in Valley by the fixture committee and the decision has been kept pending. “The fixture committee of the BCCI has yet to decide whether to allot the match between J&K and RSPB to JKCA or allot the same to DDCA for Delhi,” informed the joint secretary of Jammu wing.
