The tour was undertaken as part of Operation Sadbhavana. The children had left Reasi on first of this month.
The purpose of the tour was to give the ‘Ankur’ children an insight into the rich and varied heritage of India. The tour brought about a great deal of awareness amongst the children, about the cultural, regional and religious diversity alongside the unique harmony that binds this great Nation.
Welcoming the children, Major Gen Singh said that the children were fortunate to be exposed to the cultural diversity and heritage of India during this tour. He exhorted the children to make full use of the facilities being provided by Ankur in building a better future for them.

He wanted them to work hard and spread the message of peace and harmony wherever they go. The children while interacting with the General and a section of the media expressed their gratitude for an educative and enlightening tour.
During the tour, the children visited Rashtrapati Bhawan, Red Fort, Taj Mahal, Golden Temple, Jalianwala Baag and Wagah Border, besides meeting a number of senior Army and civil dignitaries.
