| HM commander’s brother-in -law arrested with ‘hawala’ money | | | Early Times Reporter

Special Operation Group (SOG) team today arrested brother-in-law of a HM commander an Over Ground Worker, active in Reasi area, and recovered about 2.5 lakh hawala money from his possession when he was on way to Reasi to deliver the consignment.
According to reports, the SOG received specific information that some suspect was moving in the bus stand boarded a Reasi bound bus, the police laid at Naka in Jajjar Kotli area. Sources said during checking the vehicle, police found one person traveling in the vehicle under suspicious condition and called him for checking and during checking his bag, police recovered Rs. 2,54,400 hawala money from his possession and took him to a safer house for further interrogation. Identified as Manzoor Ahmed Mir son of Khalil Ahmed resident of Chalad, Reasi has during the interrogation told police that he was the brother- in- law of HM district commander Mashooq Ali alias Saleem Iqbal son of Mohd Ramzan resident of Chalad, who was active in Reasi area since last many years. He is also reported to have told police that he was on way to Reasi to deliver the consignment. Sources said he told police that some body in Jammu gave him the hawala money and asked him to deliver the consignment to HM commander who was in touch with the some persons in Jammu. Sources said he told police that three days back he visited a hotel in Jammu and after spending two days in the hotel, one person gave him the consignment. Sources said after receiving some clues the police has launched a hunt in the city to nab the accused who handed over the consignment to the OGW.A case to this effect has been registered and further investigation was in progress when the reports last came in. |
