| Many more sex rackets lying under carpet | | | Early Times Repoter

The sex scam that rocked Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir, March last and which has now again gained prominence, after the High Court scolding the CBI for their inaction against some more ministers, MLAs and high bureaucrats involved in the same triggering protest demonstrations in Jammu, is by far only the tip of the ice berg of various sex scandals operating in J&K for last many years. Whereas the racket of sexual exploitation of some innocent girls, including minors operating in the interior of Srinagar city as well as another racket in the capital city itself and one at Magam, have come to the notice of the public, with courts seized of the same, thanks to the efforts of some social activists in the valley, many other rackets running in Jammu as well as in Kashmir have either been hushed up, kept under the carpet and have not come to the surface so far. But with little scratching many skeletons in the cupboards of some highly influential and resourceful persons, including the former and present ministers, legislators as well as high bureaucrats and business tycoons will tumble down with big bang.
Almost identical to the case of a female Councilor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Manju, who has become the talk of the town in Srinagar, because of her doubtful links with high politicians and bureaucrats, about which the High Court has made reference, a female Councilor in JMC, belonging to the former ruling and present opposition party in the state is in the centre of controversy, because of many ex ministers, legislators as well as other important functionaries in political parties being regular visitors to her house and talks of services being provided by her to the politicians as well as the bureaucrats. This ugly looking middle aged woman, having no other merit and qualification, has assumed a place of prominence in her political party, the development which is looked askance by the people who have some inkling about the fishy matters.
Similarly another woman of otherwise insignificance, living in a village on Jammu Akhnoor road and running an NGO, has been the centre of attraction for many a high politicians as well as bureaucrats, with talk of a very high politician, formerly occupying highly significant position in the ruling party paying frequent visits to this lady, with battery of cars and other vehicles seen parked outside her village residence.
In Srinagar city too, a pretty young girl who has also fought elections to the state assembly in the past, on the tickets of different national parties, is the heart throbbing of many politicians not only in the state but also at the national level, who influences their decision making, with regard to allotting agencies of their parties to the persons recommended by her in J&K. Although the opposition National Conference is laughing in their sleeves over the surfacing of sex scams involving the ruling coalition partners, Congress, PDP and PDF, since the sex scandals involving their party leaders and operating during their rule have some how or other not come to light, though there are loud talks about the same.
As far PDF leader and Minister for Transport Hakeem Yaseen is concerned, his party has denied his involvement in the notorious sex racket of Srinagar, despite the High Court asking the CBI to investigate his involvement also. Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, it is learnt, was provided official accommodation of six rooms for his party head quarters in Jammu in a posh commercial building in the heart of Jammu city, by the owner of the building, whose credentials have always remained doubtful and who is reported to be introducing many women to the minister, to get his favours in lieu of the same. |
