| Foundation stone for Army School laid | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 11
The Indian Army plays multifaceted and diverse roles, ranging from peace keeping to guarding the borders and Aid to civil authorities to Disaster Management. Grooming and educating the children and making them better citizens in the days to come is an onerous task towards that end, which Army Schools have been doing with extreme finesse. The Army School Kaluchak, Jammu is one such school which meets the needs of wards of Army personnel residing in the Kaluchak Military Station in addition to the children of ex-servicemen and war-widows. The school has proved its mettle in the past by securing 100% results in both class X and Class XII board examination. Today, foundation stone for new building of Army School Kaluchak was laid by Lieutenant General Daljeet Singh, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-Chief, Western Command. With the new infrastructure, the school will be able to further enhance its image and reputation. The new School buildings will house the Administrative block, Primary wing and Secondary wing. In addition, a state of the art Gymnasium, vocational laboratory, Multi-purpose hall and pavilion will also be constructed. The estimated cost of the project is Rupees 826 lakhs approximately. |
