| Governor, CM greet people on Navrataras, Jumait-ul-Vida | | | Early Times Reoporter SRINAGAR | OCT 11
Governor, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) S K Sinha has greeted the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasions of Navratras and Jumait-ul-Vida. In a message, the Governor prayed for peace in the State and said the best way to observe festivals is to strive for strengthening the foundations of brotherhood, traditional unity and glorious ethos. The Governor said Navratras have an added significance in the State as thousands of devotees throng from all over the country to pay obeisance at the shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi on Trikuta Hills. He prayed for the prosperity and well being of the people and extended them warm wishes on these auspicious occasions. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has also felicitated people on Navratras and Jumait-ul-Vida. In his message of felicitation, the Chief Minister hoped that the auspicious occasion would be harbinger of peace and prosperity for the State. Azad said that occasions like these have a special significance for the people of Jammu & Kashmir known for composite culture and glorious traditions of inter-religious harmony. He said our festivals help in strengthening bonds of unity, amity and secular ethos. The Chief Minister prayed for the welfare of the State and its people. |
