| New York hosts first ever Kashmir Arts Exhibition in US | | | Early Times Reporter

The first ever exhibition on Kashmir artifacts titled “Arts of Kashmir” organized in New York by Asia Society- a leading American Institute for educating Americans about Asia-is currently being witnessed by large number of people. About 130 artifacts of Kashmir are displayed in the said exhibition.
The artifacts are chosen from various fields including sculpture (stone, bronze and ivory) paintings, calligraphy, costumes, carpets, shawls and embroidered shawls with the map of Srinagar city.
Giving details of the exhibition Commissioner Secretary to Government Higher and Technical Education Pramod Jain and Director Archives, Archaeology and Museums Srinagar Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Qadri said that response of the public in New York towards the exhibition has been great. They hoped that showcasing of cultural heritage of J&K state through such exhibitions would play a role of appetizer for the people of other lands to visit Kashmir and promote of cultural tourism in the Jammu and Kashmir state |
