The Chief Executive Councilor (CEO) LAHDC, chering Dorje visited Dha, Baima, Hanu Gongma, Hanu Yokma, Hanu-Thang and Lehdo and inspected the progress of various developmental projects in these villages. At Dha, the CEC inspected the progress work of Community Hall which is coming up under BADP at a cost of Rs. 5 lac. He also inspected the Community Centre which is under construction at a cost of Rs. 3 lacs under MP (LADS). He also inspected the progress work of 27 Mtrs span motorable bridge at Hanu Gongma. Constructing at an estimated cost of Rs. 53.76 lacs, Rs. 17.43 lacs has so for been spent on this bridge, he was told. At Hanu Yokma progress work of Primary Health Center building which is coming up at Rs. 61.55 lacs was also supervised. The main demands of the people of these areas are telephone service, Solar lighting, Power, posting of Teachers, Construction of a Saria in Leh for Drokpa Community, opening of a LPG Depot at a centre point at Dha-Hanu area and construction of foot paths. Addressing to the large public gathering at these Drokpa villages, Dorje said that the Drokpa Community would get a reserved seat in the LAHDC out of the newly proposed 3 additional seats to the council. He said that this would not only help to protect their rights and interest but also lead to preserve the distinct Drokpa culture. |
