| HC directs to reserve a pharmacist post | | | Early Times Reporter

Justice YP Nargotra of J&K High Court, Jammu Wing, in a petition challenging the selections of Pharmacists in District Rajouri on alleged favoritism, has issued notice to Commissioner/Secretary Health and Medical Education, Service Selection Board and Private respondents and after hearing Adv Anil Sethi appearing for the petitioner ordered that in the meanwhile, if one post of pharmacist is vacant on account of non-joining of any of the selected candidate, the same shall be reserved.
Court further ordered that this order, however, shall be subject to the objections of the other side.
Mohd Razak challenging the selection of private respondents as Pharmacist in district cadre Rajouri in his petition alleged that the name of the petitioner was not mentioned in the categories of the selected list as the petitioner is a qualified and belongs to RBA category, having experience of about five years as he is working on the post from 2002 on contractual basis.
In the petition it has been alleged that one of the candidate namely Manzoor Ahmed was selected against the post of Pharmacist due to influence he wielded because his close relation with Shafiq Raina, one of the Board Members. The proximity of private respondent with Shafiq Raina helped him in securing the selection, otherwise he could not have been selected on account of his less merit as compared to the petitioner and thus sought quashment of the selection.
