| Various extend greetings on Navratras, Eid | | | Early Times Reporter Srinaga | Oct 12 Patron J&K National Conference- Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President Omar Abdullah and General Secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmed (Advocate) have extended greetings and warm good wishes to the people J&K state and rest of the country on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and Navratras. In his statement Dr. Farooq Abdullah hoped that the Eid will bring prosperity and peace in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in particular and world in general. He said that Navratras has also started and this is a sign of communal harmony and brotherhood that both the festivals came in the same month and week. It has been unique tradition of the people of Jammu and Kashmir state to celebrate important occasions and festivals collectively by all communities alike. This unique feature of collective participation by all the communities has gone a long way down the centuries past to build up a common secular ethos and national outlook. Festivals have largely contributed to the secular traditions unique to the Jammu and Kashmir State, Dr. Abdullah said. Omar Abdullah President J&K National Conference and Sheikh Nazir Ahmed General Secretary have also extended their greetings to the people of the state on this occasion. In his message Omar said that the month of holy Ramzan and Navratras is a examination of the human world. He prayed for peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state and hoped that the Eid, Navaratras along with the coming New Year would down a spring of happiness and prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir State . Meanwhile, Provincial President J&K National Conference, Jammu Province Ajay Sadhotra has extended felicitations to the people of J&K State in general and the Muslim brethren in particular on the eve of Eid. The Provincial President has prayed for peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state. He hoped that the festival would bring a spring of happiness and prosperity to the people of J&K state. |
