Infiltration bid foiled, 27 Myanmarese arrested
Militant arrested with ammunition

Alert Border Security Force (BSF) jawans today foiled an infiltration bid by arresting 27 Myanmarese trying to cross over to Pakistan via International Border in R S Pura sector of Jammu division, a Bangladeshi was nabbed near the Loc while a militant was arrested along with some ammunition in Shopian area of Kashmir Valley. .
According to sources, the jawans of 141 battalion of BSF noticed a group of people near IB in the wee hours today and launched a search operation in the area and during search arrested 27 Myanmarese who were hiding near the border in three different groups. They were later whisked away to the base camp for further interrogation.
Sources said, during preliminary questioning, they revealed that they had come from Myanmar through an agent, who took them near the border and fled from the spot. They also told the police that the agent also took money from them and promised for job in Pakistan after they cross to the border.
The group included five women, 12 children and 10 men, who came from Myanmar a few days back and after spending some days in different parts of Jammu they today morning reached near the border by a bus.
A BSF spokesman said that their interrogation was on as last reports came and after the interrogation they are likely to be handed over to local police.
Meanwhile, in another incident at last night, the jawans of Border Secuirty Force (BSF) also arrested a Bangladeshi when he was on way to cross the border at R S Pura and recovered Rupees five hundred Pakistani currency from his possession.
According to reports the patrolling party of BSF saw one person moving in suspicious circumstances on the border and called him for checking and during frisking jawans recovered Pakistani currency from his possession and took him to base camp for further interrogation. He was identified as 35-year-old Mushtaq Mian of Khasu district of Bangladesh.
Sources said during interrogation, he told that he was hiding in a village in the area for last some days and today he was on way to cross the border for a job. BSF jawans later handed him over to local police for further interrogation.
In yet another incident, Shopian police today arrested a militant of LeT outfit and recovered arms and ammunition from his possession when he was hiding in the area. According to reports after getting an information, police launched a search in Shopian in South Kashmir and during search arrested a militant identified as Shah Nawaz Ahmed Khandey alias Abu Jabar resident of Palmad, Kishtwar and recovered one AK 47 Rifle, two Magazines, 12 rounds and one pouch from his possession. Sources said he was active in Kishtwar and Shopian areas since last few years and his interrogation was on in the police station, as last reports came in.
