| Coventry scholars celebrate Annual Day | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 12 Coventry Scholars, Day Boarding Co-Educational Institution celebrated its Annual Day at an impressive function held at Abhinav Theatre here today. Minister for Health and Medical Education Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma was the chief guest while Pt. A.N. Vaishnavi was the guest of honour. The students of the school, enthralled the audience with Kashmiri and Dogri Dances, Folk dances of Rajasthan and Gujarat and Punjabi Bhangra. The program started with the lightening of the lamp by Vijay Bakaya, who was the guest of honour on the occasion. This was followed by Saraswati Vandana presented the students of the Coventry scholars. The welcome address was presented by Rajesh Dhar and the vote of thanks was read out by Sanjay Tickoo. Martial Art Techniques were also displayed by the students and the marriage ceremony of Kashmiri Pandits presented by Tiny Tots was of great attraction. Later, the prizes were distributed among the meritorious students by the chief guest followed by presentation of mementos to guest of honour by the chief guest and others. Pt. Kishen Ji Lagoo composed the music, Ravi Sharma choreographer and Veena Bhan and Indu Bhat rendered all help to make the program a success while Anjali Koul Bangroo compared the program. Others present included Ch Gharu Ram MLA, Dr Agni Shekhar, Kuldeep Raina, B.L. Bhat, A.K. Dewani and other prominent dignitaries, besides parents and relatives of the students of Coventry scholars. |
