| More Micro Hydel projects for Nubra Valley | | | Early Times Reporter

Pre-feasibility survey would be undertake for construction of Micro Hydel projects in some villages of Nubra Valley. This was stated by the power minister Nawang Rigzin Jora while meeting public delegations at Bokdang, Takshi and Turtuk yesterday. Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Leh Dr. M.K. Bhandari and senior district officers, Jora met public delegations at these-villages.
Bokdang minister said that the present govt. is bent upon to develop remote villages in every sphere of life and is keen to mitigate public grievances at all levels.
In response to demands like nomination of councilor, block status, construction of Bokdang Hydel Project, Jora said that govt. would consider their demands. Bokdang Hydel project, he said that it would be started shortly.
While talking to a delegation at Takshi, Jora said that he would try his best to install a diesel generator set and would also try to upgrade middle school Takshi to high secondary school, having a big roll of students. He also said that granting block status to Turtuk is a genuine demand and he would strongly demand for creation of the block. |
