| Legal literary camps organized | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 13 District Legal Service Authority, Kathua, today organized second camp to create legal awareness in rural areas. These 2- week awareness camps were launched on October 11, 2007. The first camp was organized at Village Chakara (Hiranagar). The main objective of the campaign is to make justice more and more accessible and affordable to the people particularly deprived, disadvantaged and women. The aim of campaign is to educate the people of their legal right, benefits of legal aid scheme and the system accessing legal services to legal services authority. The process of legal empowerment enables the disadvantage to access justice and eliminate stigma, discrimination and inequality from society. Principal District and Sessions Judge Kathua, who is also the Chairman District Legal Service Authority Mr. SK Jamwal, Additional District and Sessions Judge Mr. Vinod Chatterji Koul, CJM Mr. VS Bhou and Mr. SS Bali District Mobile Magistrate Traffic and Bar President Mr. Naveen Choudhary were present on the occasion Mr. SK Jamwal while speaking on the inaugural function said that under the provisions in Article 39 A of the Constitution of India the states are directed to provide free legal aid to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen for reasons of economic or other disabilities. State Legal Service Authority prescribes to give legal service to the people and conduct Lok-Adalats. JNF |
