| Jinder adjudged best as BSF School boys win U-19 trophy | | Inter-CBSE North Zone handball tourney | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 13 While girls lost in the final, the under-19 boys of BSF School Jammu clinched the championship trophy beating National Public School Ropar by a huge margin 31-11 in the final which was played today at BSF Campus, Paloura near here today. BSF School Jammu’s victory was guided by Jinder Pal, who was later declared best player of the tournament in under-19 category for scoring highest 43 goals. Whereas in girls section, BSF School Jammu lost to Army Public School Delhi Cantt 18-3 to claim the winners trophy. For her brilliant performance of 32 goals in the tournament, Bimla Kumari of Army Public School Delhi was named best player. Meanwhile, in under-14 year category, St Davis Convent School Kathua bagged the boys’ title beating BSF School Jammu 25-19. In girls section, the winners’ trophy was claimed by BSF School Jammu trouncing Presentation Convent in the final. Principal Government Medical College and Hospital, Dr Rajinder Singh was chief guest who along with other distinguished guests, including officers of the BSF gave away medals and trophies to the winners of different groups. He also released a souvenir of the event. Earlier, Principal of the host school, BSF Senior Secondary School, Jammu, Dr B B Chauhan welcomed the chief guest. Soon after the Principal’s address, cultural programme was presented by the students, followed by the drills by the martial arts students, which got applause from the audience. |
