Semi-finals line-up has been drawn with the entry of Shastri Cricket Club in the last four stage today in the ongoing Satish Sharma memorial under-19 cricket tournament at Parade ground, here today.
Now, in the semi-finals, Kathua Blues Club to take on Rehari Cricket Club tomorrow while MA Stadium XI have been pitted against Shastri Cricket Club for October 15.
Earlier, in the fourth and last quarterfinal match played today, Shastri Cricket Club (SCC) trounced Trikuta Cricket Club (TCC) by seven wickets to make it into the last four stage.
Batting first after winning the toss, TCC lost all their wickets for 103 runs in 21 overs of the 35 overs match. In reply, SCC chased the total in mere 13.5 overs for the loss of three wickets.
Charanpreet Singh was only batsman from TCC who dared the SCC bowling attack and made unbeaten 32 runs with the help of seven boundaries. Ganshyam and Varun were other scorers with 12 and 11 runs in their respective accounts.
On the other hand, bowling tight spells, SCC gave away only 12 extra runs. Sohail was the most successful bowler with five for 39 while Akash Balwal took two. Ram Dayal and Manik Gupta shared a piece each.
Later, SCC chased the target in just 13.5 overs with seven wickets in hand with Ram Dayal being the top scorer. Vikas contributed 18, followed by Kanav Sharma (13) and Ankit Bassin (14). Varun Mengi bagged two wickets and Charanpreet one from TCC.
Sohail was declared man of the match for his excellent bowling. First class cricketer Inderjeet Singh present memento to Sohail.
