| BSP supports casual workers dharna demands payment of salaries, regularization | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | AUGUST 19 Bahujan Samaj Party has taken very serious view of the callous attitude of Social Forestry Deptt. Of J&K State Govt. about the plight of Casual Workers engaged in Social Forestry projects of Samba i.e. Basanter & Medicine Forestry Projects and has urged upon the Govt. to pay the pending dues of these Workers said a press release issued by the party, here. These projects were started in September 1994 & about 150 casual workers were engaged. The payment of wages has- been made to them up to May 2001 after they launched protests dharnas and hunger strike in the past. At present 125 casual workers are on the work these projects and have not been given wages after June 2001 and these workers are continuously working in these projects till now. These workers have been crying hard for the payments of wages are fore the concerned authorities, but the authorities concerned did not bother about their genuine demands of payment of wages & their regularization in the Deptt. They shave been lodging protest Dharna since 3rd August 2006 continuously before the office of the Tehsildar Samba. But there is no effect of its dharna on authorities, added the release through which they are rising their genuine demands. BSP J&K State unit fully supports the genuine demands of casual workers of these projects & demands the Govt. solve these problems of their because all of these workers belong to poor class of the society & are from down trodden families and from far off difficult areas of Samba Tehsil. This callouts attitude needs to be abandoned and these poor casual workers be paid their pending wages and they be regularized. This is more important than declaring Samba as District.
