| PKM’s political pilgrimage to highlight struggle | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 15 With a view to educate countrymen about their ongoing struggle out of their homeland a large number of activists of Panun Kashmir Movement (PKM) is organizing a political pilgrimage to nine different states and two union territories in India. Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President of PKM announced this decision in a press confrence here on Monday. He said to undertake the Sankalp yatra was finalized during the special two day executive meeting here today. He said,"The month long yatra will start from Srinagar, Kashmir in the month of November 2007 and after covering 9 States and 2 Union Territories it will conclude at Jammu in the month of December 2007". During the yatra the PKM leader Ashwini Kumar Churangoo said they will focus on Kashmir issue and terrorism, Exodus and displacement of Kashmiri Pandits and other minorities of Kashmir and their present status, Human rights situation of minorities in Jammu & Kashmir state and homeland in Kashmir. He said,The Kashmir Sikh Displaced Forum shall also take active part in this political pilgrimage throughout its course. Prof H.LPundita, Vice President of PKM said, that the Yatra shall comprise the following 4 stages Srinagar to Jammu, Jammu to Gandhinagar (Gujarat), Sabarmati, Ahemdabad to Ravi, Pathankot via Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and Lakhanpur to Rajinder Park, Jammu (On foot). "This political pilgrimage named Sankalp-Yatra shall visit the birth-places and work-places of great political personalities of India", Mahatma Gandhi(SABARMATI ASHRAM), Ahemdabad, Dr. B.R. Ambhedkar(NAGPUR), Dr. K.B. Hedgewar(NAGPUR) andLokmanya B.G. Tilak-(PUNE). The Yatra shall also visit toHarmandir-Darbar Sahib, (Amritsar), Durgiana, Amritsar,Akshardham, Ahemdabad and Hazoor Sahib, Nanded, Maharashtra, he added. |
