| Congress leader demands relief for Rajouri migrants | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | October 15 Congress Leader and Chairman All India Mahatma Gandhi National Foundation, Zahir Abbas Bhatti today expressed concern over the plight of Rajouri migrants and demanded relief for them. In a press conference here today, he said that the plight of these migrants is miserable and they deserve the assistance in the form of cash and kind to alleviate their problems. "Some people have migrated from far flung areas of Poonch and Rajouri districts due to militant threat and are now putting up at Rajouri Town without getting any relief from the Government." He said. On the occasion he further said that some farmers of Rajouri and Poonch Districts have suffered loses due to rains and flood and many residential houses and structures have got damaged and nothing has been done so far to provide them some sort of relief. "The concerned authorities should immediately assess loses caused to crops, houses and other properties due to floods and rains and proper compensation should be given to people who have suffered loses." He added. Bhatti also demanded repair of roads, drains and lanes in Rajouri Town so that the inconvenience faced by the people of town is avoided. He also stressed upon the BSNL to improve their services in twin districts as people are faced with a severe problem due to chaotic services. |
