| One-wkt win for Dogra Law College | | Inter-college cricket tourney | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 15 Dogra Law College won the opening match of the annual inter-college cricket tournament today beating Degree College Rajouri by one wicket. The tournament is being organized by the Department of Physical Education at University of Jammu at University grounds here. In the inaugural match, Dogra Law College defeated Degree College Rajouri by one wicket. Earlier, batting first, Rajouri College lost all their wickets for 159 runs in 24.5 overs of the 35 overs match. In reply, Law College reached the required target in 34.1 overs for the loss of nine wickets. Yasir was top scorer from Rajouri College with 42 runs off 30 balls including two sixes and four boundaries, while Mehmood and Mustafa contributed 26 and 22 runs respectively. From Law College, Tauqeer Mushtaq clinched four wickets, followed by Ishan and Muzamil two each. In reply, Dogra Law College played slow but steady innings and reached the target in last over of their innings with Muzamil being the top scorer. He made 30 runs. Ishan and Sunny added valuable 26 and 18 runs respectively. Mehmood and Rizwan took three wickets each from Rajouri College while Asif Mustafa and Yasir shared a piece each. Later, Muzamil was declared man of the match for his all-round performance. Earlier, the tournament was declared open by the Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu, Prof VPS Sehgal. He was accompanied by the Director Physical Education, University of Jammu, Prof Lokesh Verma and other officers of the Directorate. |
