| Kaw hits ton, guides PG Law and Science to 117-run win | | Inter-college cricket tourney | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 16 A fine innings of 118 runs from Vimarsh Kaw today guided PG Law and Science to a big 117 runs victory over Law School in the ongoing inter-college cricket tournament at University grounds, here. Kaw, who played in the Ranji Trophy last year, faced mere 91 deliveries to reach the century mark with the help of three sixes and 14 boundaries. He was adjudged man of the match and the trophy was presented by Prof NR Sharma, Provost Hostel, University of Jammu. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, PG Law and Science set a big target of 280 runs in the allotted 40 overs for seven wickets, which, in reply, Law School could not chase and bowled out for 163 runs in 31.5 overs. For PG Law and Science, Nitesh Mahajan also played fine innings of 62 runs studded with 11 boundaries. Ankit Bakshi and Ajit Pal Singh contributed 19 runs each. From Law School, Amandeep, Sahil and Sami Ullah took two wickets each Batting second, Law School seemed immature in building up their innings were all out for a partly total of 117 runs in 31.5 overs with Sami Ullah being the main scorer who contributed 43 runs. Shashi and Sovit added 28 and 16 runs respectively. Today’s match was officiated by Naveen Sharma and Vijay Choudhary while Mohit Jamwal was scorer. Prominent among those present were member Campus Cricket Committee, Ranjit Kalra. Next match: SRS College to take on DC Kishtwar tomorrow. |
