| DB takes strong notice; directs compliance of orders | | ‘Traffic regulation in Jammu city’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 16 Division Bench of J&K High Court, Jammu Wing ,comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice YP Nargotra, in a much publicized Public Interest Litigation regarding regulation of Traffic in Jammu city, took serious note that the orders passed by this Court at various stages did not find any such compilation with the judicial record and directed Registrar Judicial to look into the matter expeditiously. Sr. Adv DC Raina, Court Counsel, submitted that orders passed by this Court at various stages to the Registry in 3-4 sets, did not find any such compilation attached with the Judicial record and directed Registrar Judicial to look into the matter and report. Sr. Adv DC Raina, however, submitted that he is in the process of preparing the latest status report and would be submitting the same within three weeks. The Court Counsel further submitted that he is feeling handicapped as the official respondents have not furnished the copies of the compliance report to him pursuant to the earlier order. Advocated General Mr. AH Naik, appearing for the state, submitted that pursuant to the two orders, affidavits from the concerned quarters have already been furnished. He, however, sated that he will prepare a latest status report which would be handed over to Mr. DC Raina, Court Counsel, within two weeks. DB further observed that during the course of arguments it has been brought to the notice of the Court that not only the Traffic is to be regulated for a small stretch of about 400 mts on Raghunath Mandir lane, in fact there is lot of road congestion in the entire city which has to be taken care of. SA Wattli SSP Traffic Jammu, who was present in the Court, stated that he will furnish a road map suggesting the mode by which the traffic can be decongested and regulated. Upon this, DB said that "we appreciate he may do so" and directed registry to supply the copies of all the orders to Sr. Adv Dc Raina passed by this court from March 2002 onwards. Joginder Singh President J&K All India Taxi Sumo Tempo Owners Union, who was present in the Court, moved an application for compliance of earlier order passed by this Court, copy of which has also been handed over to SSP Traffic Jammu, with the direction to furnish his own affidavit in this regard.
