| Workshop on Horticulture farming organized | | | Jammu Aug-19- A day long workshop on Horticulture, Farming and Vermi Compost Technology was organized jointly by Rural India Association of Rural Upliftment (RIARU) and State Horticulture Department here today. About 200 farmers from remote and border belt along with Sarpanches and Panches attended the workshop.
Ashwani Sharma MLA inaugurated the workshop. Chief Horticulture Officer J L Sharma dwelt at length about the horticulture sector and apprised the farmers about various schemes launched for their up-liftment. He urged the people especially the farming community to come forward and reap the benefits of these schemes.
Rakesh Sharma President RIARU assured the farming community of organizing more such interactive seminars and workshops to enable the farmers to draw full benefits from the available schemes.
The local prominent social activist Kundan Lal Sharma, Sarpanch Dev Raj Choudhry, Sarwan Singh, Dr Gani Shayam Singh, Mehtab Singh and Brita Ram also spoke on the occasion.
