| LeT Comdr among 2 militants gunned down | | | Early Times Reporter

Security forces claimed to have gunned down two militants including LeT area Commander from a far flung area of Gul in a fierce encounter during the morning hours today and recovered arms and ammunition from the spot.
Defence spokesman, S.D. Goswamy told Kashmir Media Trust that after receiving an input about presence of some militants in General area Lancha, west of Gul, the troops of 61RR(JAT), 15 Sector RR of Uniform Force and JK police rushed towards the spot and laid a cordon of the target area.
As the security forces troops were cordoning off the area, they came under heavy fire which was equally retaliated by them.
In the ensuing gun fight two militants were gunned down, he said.
The slain militants have been identified as Mohammed Rafiq alias Abu Usman alias Janbaz, call sign R3 SS, LeT area Commander of Lancha and son of Kala Gujjar, Liaqat Ali, son of Kanu, resident of Lancha.
One AK 47 Rifle and three magazines with warlike stores and incriminating documents have been recovered from the slain militants. |
