A self-styled Lashkar-e-Toiba area commander was among three militants killed in a gunbattle in Ramban district today.
On a tip off, 61 Rashtriya Rifles troops and police launched a cordon and search operation in Lancha area of Gool Tehsil, official sources said.
During the search operation, an encounter took place in the area, they said adding that in the gunbattle three militants were killed.
Two AK rifles, 4 magazines, 70 rounds and one wireless set was recovered from the spot of the encounter, they said.
The slain militants have been identified as Rafeeq Ahmed alias Abu Usman alais Janbaz, self-styled LET commander, Liaqat Ali and Noor Hussain, they said. |
