He said these people want masses to remain economically deprived so that they could make them play to their tunes. The Chief Minister also cautioned people against those whose 24x7 pastime was vote politics. He said the public representatives were elected to serve the people and not to make money or assets. He said people's welfare and not personal aggrandizement should be our objective. He described the party workers as catalysts of change and asked them to work for eradication of ills like corruption from the society. The Chief Minister made a special reference of the Mughal Road and said for years there was only talk of the construction of the road but no forward movement. He said within six months of assuming office, his government started construction of the road and completed 60 kms, 30 each from Shopian and Poonch side within one year. He said the remaining 24 kms would be completed within next year under his stewardship, adding that the road link would shorten distance between the two divisions of the State. |
