| Coalition partners deceived farmers, youth: Sadhotra | | | Early Times Reporter R.S Pura | Oct 17 Leveling allegations on the coalition government in the state that it has acted against the interests of farmers and youth of the state, provincial president of National Conference Ajay Sadhotra said it was unfortunate that the farmers who are the backbone of the society and youth on whose shoulders future of society lies are being ignored and their rights being infringed. Addressing a day-long convention of party delegates and workers of RS Pura and Miran Sahib block at Chowala near here, Sadhotra expressed shock over crops of the farmers getting damaged while the authorities caring little for the loss. He said the crops of farmers were damaged in the rains and the government has not paid a single penny to the victims. Moreover, the seeds and fertilizers have not been supplied to them and whatsoever is being provided is not of prescribed standard. “The government has not devised any policy for providing employment to the unemployed youth or for engagement of these youth in private sector and has not initiated measures for self-employment. The frustration among the youth is increasing day by day which is alarming and dangerous for the state and the country. The government should come out with a clear-cut policy for farmers and unemployed youth of the state, which is still awaited despite the lapse of five year,” Sadhotra added. The convention later adopted a resolution seeking compensation for the farmers whose crops have been damaged in recent rainstorm in RS Pura. Among others who were present on the occasion and addressed the convention included Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Vice President, Gurdeep Singh Sassan, S.N Khajuria, Ram Chand Bhagat, ex-MLA, Ranjit Singh , Block President R.S. Pura, Balwinder Singh,Block President Miran Sahib, S. Pyara Singh, Daljeet Sharma, Sunita Rani , Dr. Thoru Ram, S. Himmat Singh, , Bishan Das, Nirmal Singh and others. |
