| Glowing tributes paid to Munshi Prem Chand | | | JAMMU AUG-19 Glowing tributes were paid to Munshi Prem Chand, the most eminent short story writer of the sub continent, at a function organized by Adbi Kunj. The function was presided over by Mohammed Amin Banihali a well known Urdu Poet and President Anjuman-e-Farooqhi Urdu Jammu. Describing Prem Chand as an outstanding short story writer, President Adbi Kunj Sham Talib said that his literary works are read with great enthusiasm both in India and Pakistan adding that he was a writer of masses who introduced element of realism in works of fiction and his writings truly representing the country life as it existed in his times. On this occasion tributes were also paid to well known singer Mohammed Rafi on his 26th death anniversary. Mohammed Amin Banihali recollected some moments of his meetings with late Rafi. The meet also complimented Dr Premi Romani for being honoured by West Bengal Urdu Academy on his book ‘Iqbal Aur Jadid Urdu Shairi’ and Dr Gayanashawar Sharma for bringing out a Dogri novel ‘Phee-Ke-Hoa’ Mohammed Amin Banihali, Malik Abdul Latif, Talib Kashmiri, Baldev Singh Bhall, Satpal Pal Sharma, Abdul Jabbar Bhat, Muni Lal Puri, Dr Ram Pal Sharma, Daya Ram Daya, Raj Kumar Uttam, Suresh Rahi, Jaswant Singh and Sham Talib recited their poems and ghazals at the session.
