| Gagan hits 84 as SRS College win by12 runs | | Inter-college cricket tourney | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 17 A brilliant knock of 84 runs (off 84 balls, 3x6, 7x4) by Gagan Pal Singh today guided Sant Rocha Singh (SRS) College to 12-run victory over Degree College Kishtwar in the ongoing inter-college cricket tournament at University of Jammu grounds, here. Batting first after inning the toss, SRS College set a target of 223 runs losing all their wickets in the allotted 40 overs. Gagan Pal played nice innings of 84 runs followed by another superb knock from Gagandeep who contributed 40 runs including four hits to the fence. Harsh Vardan and Ripu Daman added 22 and 17 runs respectively. Mudassir was most successful bowler from Kishtwar College with three for 39 in eight overs. Akram and Mohd Sheikh shared a piece each. In reply, Kishtwar College could not chase the total and lost all their wickets for 210 runs in 35.2 overs. Mudassir remained the top scorer who made 71 runs off 65 deliveries. Ajay also played well contributing 40 runs, followed by Muneet (21). Gagandeep bagged three wickets for SRS College while Parteek and Raipudaman took two each. Gagan Pal Singh was later adjudged man of the match for his match winning knock of 84. He was given away the trophy by Head of the Department of Law, Prof S K Sharma. Naveen Sharma and Mohit Jamwal were umpires in today’s match while Vikrant Sharma maintained the score. Next match: Government SPMR College of Commerce to take on Degree College Reasi tomorrow. |
