| Dowry death rocks Amb Gharota | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 17 The scars of dowry death of a Trikuta Nagar girl that took place at Gurgaon, Haryana were still fresh, another death of similar kind took place in a village in the outskirts of winter capital Jammu. A Twenty seven year old woman, Sharda Devi was set ablaze at her residence, Marjali, Ambghrota by her husband after she failed to fulfill his demand of bringing more dowries from her parental home. Police sources told Kashmir Media Trust that the statement of the deceased woman recorded on death bed revealed that she was set ablaze by her husband on October 11 for her failure to fulfill his dowry demand. She was admitted with ninety percent burn injuries in Government Medical College Jammu where from she was shifted to Military Hospital Satwai for necessary treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries yesterday after battling for the life for last seven days. The husband of the deceased, Kala Ram is presently working with 12 RR and had come to home for some days. The deceased woman was married five years back and is survived by two children. She basically hailed from village Sumbli Kana Chak, Jhri. Police has registered a case under section 307, 498, 109 and is investigating the matter. |
