| JU organizes interaction programme | | | Early Times Reporter

Centre for Professional studies in Urdu, University of Jammu and Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary Society organized an interaction program with Dr. Ali Javed Director, National Council for promotion of Urdu language New Delhi.
Vice Chancellor, Jammu University Prof. Amitabh Mattoo presided over the function while Director Colleges Development, Meenakshi Kilam was the guest of honor on the occasion.
Prof. Mattoo in his presidential address described Ali Javed not only a reputed Urdu writer but also a human being having a secular bent of mind. He further added that University of Jammu will support whole heartedly to the NCPUL for promotion of Urdu language in University of Jammu.
Dr. Ali Javed on the occasion announced to provide Rs. Five lakhs to the Jammu University for organizing National seminar on 1857 movement. Prof. Javed also said that Urdu is not a language of one religion but is the language of masses having secular character. He said that Urdu had played a pivotal role in the freedom struggle of India.
Earlier, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Director Centre for Professional studies in Urdu gave a brief resume of Ali Javed. He described Ali Javed a true nationalist who always worked for the down trodden society.
Kilam presented vote of thanks. The function was attended by a large number of scholars, teachers and students. |
