Jammu | Oct 18
The state unit of the BJP has decided to target its guns against the Congress and the Panthers Party which alone can pose a challenge to the saffron brigade in the next election.
Describing Congress as “sarap Naag” (cobra) and Naag Nath(python) the BJP Chief,Mr Ashok Khajuria, said here today “we have to smash the heads of these poisonous snakes.” He said,in reply to a question,”since the National Conference and the PDP are valley based we do not find any challenge from them. These two organizations do not have any pockets of influence in the Jammu region and had it been the case the two parties would have done something for removing regional imbalance.”
Khajuria said that in the next election it would be a three-cornered contest among the BJP,the Congress and the Panthers Party.”Since the role of the Congress and the Panthers Party has been anti-Jammu the BJP will be in a position to administer them a heavy blow in the poll”,he added.
He said that voters in the Jammu region have tested the Congress , the Panthers Party and the National Conference and now it was the time for them to vote in favour of the BJP.Referring to the Panthers Party he said that its leaders, even while they were in the Government, had miserably failed to redress the grievances of people of the Jammu region. He said that the the coalition Government has remained an example of nonperformance and “we shall be able to cash on it.”In reply to another question he said that the BJP will have some understanding with like minded political leaders and ruled out the possibility of having any electoral understanding with either the National Conference,or the Panthers Party.
