Early Times Reporter Jammu | Oct 18 A newly formed organization namely PO, JK-Sharnarthi Morcha (JKSM) looking after the problems of Sharnarthies have decided to observe ‘martyrs day’ on October 21. Addressing the meeting of its executive members, Ashok Khajuria said, that it is very un-fortunate that the State Government, in general and the Sharnarthi Community, in particular, have forgotten these sons of the soils, who had sacrified their lives, for the safety and protection of the people at the hands of Kabalis and Pakistani troops, who had unleashed a region of death and destruction during 1947-1948, starting from 21st October, 1947. He said, as a protest a torch-light procession will be taken out from Prem Nagar, Miran Sahib at 5.30 P.M. on 21st October, which after passing through Bridge Nagar, Kharian, Indira Colony, Rohimorh, Gadigarh, Karanbag, Upper Gadigarh, shall culminate at Ranibag Chowk (Near Civil Air Port). It is here that the prominent political and social activists belonging to Sharnarthi community, shall pay tributes to all those, who sacrificed their lives for humane cause. Prominent among those, who were present and took part in the deliberations, in the said meeting, were Devinder Sharma, Paras Ram Raina, Ahuti Khajuria, Govind Raj Sharma, Naresh Shastri, Man Mohan Sharma and Surinder Shastri. |
